Imole Infrastructure Revolution

When I assumed office in 2022, the Osun infra deficit was above eighty percent. Today, we have reduced the infra deficit by over 50 percent.

— Governor Ademola Adeleke
  • 1Over 255 kilometres of internal roads constructed across urban and rural LGAs — the largest road construction programme in Osun's recent history. A further 160 kilometres currently ongoing.
  • 2Zero abandoned projects policy: Osun-East circular road (second lane), Osogbo–Ikirun–Kwara boundary, and Osogbo–Iwo–Ibadan rehabilitation all completed or reactivated.
  • 3An integrated infrastructure plan featuring at least 5 flyover bridges, dualisation of key corridors in Ede, Osogbo, and Ilesa, and 55km of new roads with at least 1.5km per LGA.
  • 4Operation Light Up Osun — all completed roads fitted with solar street lights. State Airport construction underway: site secured, Aviation Authority clearance obtained for new location.
  • 5No government loans taken for the infrastructure plan — funded without burdening future generations. Local artisans, engineers, sand, stones and cement sourced within Osun State.

Imole Healthcare Revolution — A First in Nigeria

On November 8, 2023, we enrolled the entire retirees in Osun State on healthcare coverage — the first government in all of Nigeria to do so.

— Governor Ademola Adeleke
  • 123,000+ pensioners enrolled on free comprehensive healthcare — including hospital visits, drugs, and specialist care. The first programme of its kind in Nigeria's history.
  • 2Imole Surgical & Medical Outreach: 50,000+ residents received free services — cataract, hernia, and pterygium surgeries, free glasses, malaria treatment — across all 9 federal constituencies.
  • 3346 primary healthcare centres under rehabilitation statewide — each solar-powered for 24-hour service, equipped with essential drugs and staffed appropriately.
  • 4100% federal hazard allowance paid to all state health workers — making Osun the only state in Nigeria whose health workers did not join the nationwide strike.
  • 53.5 million Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLITN) distributed free to Osun households. HIV/AIDS treatment surge launched to reduce prevalence statewide.
  • 6₦17 billion+ paid in pensions and gratuities — clearing a ₦76 billion liability inherited from the previous administration.

Clean Water for Every Ward — and Workers Treated Fairly

In Osun state today, there is hardly a ward out of the 332 wards without a motorised borehole to serve the water needs of residents.

— Governor Ademola Adeleke
  • 1Motorised boreholes installed in all 332 wards of Osun State — delivering clean, accessible water to communities that previously had none.
  • 2₦1.3 billion contract awarded for rehabilitation of the Ora water workstation (serving the Iganagan area). Iwo, Ede, and Osogbo waterworks also flagged for major rehabilitation.
  • 3Iragbiji Dam revival — long-abandoned dam infrastructure brought back to serve communities in the region.
  • 4Inherited 30-month salary arrears from the previous government — paid six months of the half-salary backlog within the first 16 months.
  • 5₦17 billion+ paid in pensions and gratuities, clearing part of the ₦76 billion pension liability inherited. Promotions approved and financial benefits paid without delay.
  • 6Osun selected as a pilot site for the World Bank carbon investment project — the Ago Owu Forest will participate in the Climate Change Action Plan under the Paris Agreement.
